Jessica's Story
Real Story: Attendance at Computer Camp can change the course of a student’s life immeasurably.
Jessica became pregnant as a sophomore in high school and used the youth program at Community Action Partnership to help pay for childcare and transportation.
Jessica then attended computer camp, excelled, and earned a laptop computer and printer. Since then, she has earned her LPN and is now completing her RN degree. She attends school full-time, works part-time and is very self sufficient.
Jessica has been honored recently with a nomination for the Missouri Governor’s Award for excellence in the face of challenge. “With help from Community Action Partnership, and the resources I gained at computer camp, I am creating the life I hoped for for myself and my child,” said Jessica. “Doors do open with hard work.”
