Welcome to Community Action Partnership of Greater St. Joseph
Helping people. Changing lives. Ending poverty.
Let's talk about poverty. And together, let's end it.
Etablished in 1965, Community Action Partnership of Greater St. Joseph (CAP St. Joe) has been providing programs to move low-income persons from poverty to self-sufficiency in Northwest Missouri for nearly 50 years. CAP St. Joe is a private non-profit agency providing services to nearly 16,000 people in poverty accross four counties in Northwest Missouri. We are proud to be part of a national network of more then 900 Community Action Agencies.
Our mission is "helping people. Changing lives. Ending poverty." At the heart of our efforts is the belief that education is the antidote to poverty, and we carry out this belief through several core programs, including headstart, work force development, utilities assistance, affordable housing and community development.
Our vision is "a community committed to ending poverty." and we partner with area businesses, organizations, social service agencies and educational institutions to break the cycle of poverty, one life at a time. Last year, 6,000 low-income families came through our doors asking for help. Through focuses needs-driven stratedies - both for the short and long-term - we're moving people out of the hopelessness, chaos and isolation of poverty. |
